Vocational Program

In 2019, CINF began to plant the seeds for its vocational project in Artsakh. Thus far, the program has offered:

  • Italian courses in the summer and fall of 2019 to prepare for workshops and internships led by Italian master-craftsmen.
  • Online phytotherapy therapy courses during the first Covid outbreak in 2020.
  • Tailoring and carpentry courses in Stepanakert at the Antonia Arslan Armenian-Italian Hamalir.

Our aim is to help Artsakh establish cottage industries; small, home-grown businesses led by experienced and knowledgeable master-craftsmen. The success of the cottage industry model is evident in Italy.

The Courses

In the fall of 2021, Italians Ambrogina Vismara, Giliola Isotton, and Giovanni Antonio Sanvito traveled to Artsakh in order to lead courses in their crafts, tailoring and carpentry, at the Antonia Arslan Hamalir.

The Internships

In the Winter of 2019, CINF established internship possibilities in Italy. 10-12 candidates were selected by the CINF committee chaired by Christina Hurtyunyan. Internships were to begin in the Spring of 2020. Covid and the 44-day war postponed the implementation of the internships. CINF’s Board prays that it will be able to do so soon.
