Hope In the Midst of COVID-19

Vocational Course Machines Arrive in Artsakh

On June 15th, 2020, more than $30,000 worth of machinery arrived in Stepanakert, Artsakh. This equipment was delivered on behalf of the non-profit organization the Christians In Need Foundation (CINF) in preparation for their Practica vocational project. The Practica project will offer to Artsakhtsi citizens courses and internships with Italian artisans in a variety of crafts. These expert craftsmen will train Artsakhtsi students in their unique fields and help them to establish cottage industries across Artsakh. Ultimately, the project aims to stimulate Artsakh’s economic development.

To see this project succeed, CINF has partnered with the Stepanakert Vocational School where courses will be offered. Among the first courses will be carpentry, tailoring and cosmetology. The equipment for these courses is now stored within the new wing of the Vocational School. The wing was built by the Vocational School and Artsakh Ministry of Education specifically for this project.

The delivery of the machinery was exciting news in the midst of the world-wide COVID-19 shutdown. Both the Artsakhtsi and CINF’s Italian artisans are eagerly looking forward to when classes can begin.
