CINF-Artsakh Accomplishments 2020-21

Implemented projects:

  • Organization of the Armenian-Italian vocational program:
    • Equipped the CINF wing of the Stepanakert Vocational School with machinery.
    • Arranged pre-training (including online Italian language courses) for Artsakhtsi interns selected to study abroad in Italy.
  • Funded and distributed books as part of the summer reading program “Artsakh Reads” announced by the Ministry of Education, Science and Culture of the Republic of Artsakh (number of donated books – 450, including books by Siobhan Nash-Marshall and Antonia Arslan).
  • Funded a program to equip Karvachar kindergarten of Shahumyan region of Artsakh with necessary toys.
  • Presented Christmas presents to 150 students (preschool-5th grade) of Stepanakert schools, displaced from their settlements of Artsakh after the war.
  • Participated in the organization of and donated notebooks for IT courses for middle and high school students in Berdashen, Gishi, and Martuni communities, arranged by the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sports of the Republic of Artsakh.

Current phase programs:

  • Stepanakert Vocational School and Basic School No. 4, which are located in the same building, to be included in the newly established “Antonia Arslan” Armenian-Italian Hamalir, offering courses in Stepanakert led by Italian master craftsmen and training for Artsakh specialists and students abroad in Italy. The Hamalir’s first programs will include woodworking, hairdressing/cosmetology, clothing modeling, sewing, catering, and silversmithing.
  • With the help of Italian master craftsmen, renovating and equipping the building of the “Antonia Arslan” Armenian-Italian Hamalir.
  • Designing a state-of-the-art curricula for the “Antonia Arslan” Armenian-Italian Hamalir .
  • Recruiting Italian craftsmen according to market demands in Artsakh.
  • Preparing a laboratory aspect to the program, training Hamalir students to make and sell their own products.

Goals of current phase programs:

As a result of training Artsakhtsi master craftsmen, CINF anticipates:

  • Products in the form of woodwork, clothing modeling, and sewing;
  • Organizing an exhibition of these products;
  • Sales and exports of these products;
  • Equipping the Artsakh service sector with specialists.

Monies raised from the sale of Hamalir products will be used to financially support further CINF-Artsakh initiatives.

Future plans:

  • Construction of homes for the displaced population of Artsakh.
  • Supporting the families of the dead, missing and captives.
  • Equipping the educational institutions of Artsakh with the necessary technical means.
  • Organizing Italian and English language courses.
