Christmas Gifts for Hamalir Grades K-4 Crafted By Vocational Students

As a special project for the Christmas season, the Hamalir’s Carpentry and Tailoring Programs manufactured gifts for the school’s youngest students. The school’s woodworkers designed and carved Christmas-themed nesting dolls, while the tailors cut and sewed little felt ornaments in the shapes of stockings and mittens.

The Hamalir’s Principal and Director commented upon the distribution of the gifts, which occurred on December 28th:

“We teach children from childhood to believe in miracles and never despair, bearing the responsibility of proving them. Today we assured at the Antonia Arslan Armenian Italian Hamalir that miracles can also happen in Artsakh, which has been cut off from the outside world for 18 days. More than 185 elementary and preschool classes received Christmas gifts (a wooden Christmas tree with a surprise, Santa’s glove, and other interesting Christmas trinkets). The gifts were made by skilled tailoring and woodworking masters of the educational complex with their students. We don’t stop believing in a bright future, but we try to achieve it by doing our part with great dedication.”
